This Privacy Policy explains what information SlideShare Downloader ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Use of the site is also covered by our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Process
- Links you paste. When you press Download, the presentation link is sent to our server so it can read the list of public slide images. We use it only to deliver that result. To retrieve the page, our server, and in some cases your browser, may route the request through the third-party relay services described in section 5.
- Files you create. PDF and PPTX files are built in your browser. We do not receive, store or review the files you save.
- Log and device data. Like most websites, our servers and hosting provider automatically record technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page, date and time, and error reports. We use it to run, secure and improve the site.
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect names, passwords or payment details through the tool.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain and troubleshoot the downloader
- To protect the site against abuse, spam and security threats
- To understand how the site is used and to improve it
- To respond to messages, privacy requests and copyright notices
- To show advertising that helps keep the tool free (see section 4)
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our partners use cookies and local storage. We use them to measure traffic, and to serve and measure ads. Details, including how to manage them, are in our Cookie Policy.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may display ads served by Google and other third-party vendors. These vendors use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads on this site and on other sites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
We do not control the cookies set by advertisers and we do not have access to them. Where required by law (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), we ask for your consent before using cookies for personalised ads or measurement.
5. Third-Party Services
To make the tool work, we rely on the following third-party services. They may receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the request itself.
- Relay services (r.jina.ai and api.allorigins.win). If SlideShare blocks a direct request from our server, we may retrieve the public page through these services. In that case the presentation link you pasted is sent to them so they can fetch the page. In some cases your browser may also send that link to r.jina.ai directly. Each service has its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
- Content delivery networks (cdnjs.cloudflare.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net). When you export a file, the PDF library (jsPDF) is loaded from cdnjs and the PowerPoint library (pptxgenjs) is loaded from jsDelivr. These providers receive your IP address and device information when your browser requests the library.
- Slide and page images. Slide images are served by SlideShare's own image network and passed through our server so your browser can build the file. We do not store them. If our server cannot fetch an image, your browser may request it through a backup image service (images.weserv.nl), which then receives the address of that slide image.
- Analytics. We may use privacy-conscious analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful.
We do not use these services to sell your data, and we do not send them your name, email or any account details, because we do not collect them. If you prefer that a link or image address is not sent to a relay or image service, please do not use the tool for that link.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data only with service providers that help us run the site (hosting, security, analytics, advertising), when required by law or to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer. These providers are only permitted to use data to provide their services to us.
7. Data Retention and Security
Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations, and are then deleted or anonymised. We use reasonable technical measures such as HTTPS to protect data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR): our legal bases are legitimate interests (running and securing the site), consent (non-essential cookies and personalised ads) and legal obligation.
- California (CCPA/CPRA) and other US states: you may request to know, delete or correct personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money; advertising cookies may count as "sharing" under some laws, which you can opt out of using the links in section 4.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
9. Children's Privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Links to Other Sites
The site may link to external websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
